
El Paso, Texas (December 7, 2009)- The El Paso Patriots U-18 boys coached by Enrique Cervantes, current player for the El Paso Patriots PDL Team, finished first at the Copa Del Rey Soccer Tournament held in Las Cruces, New Mexico this past weekend in the U-19 Boys Bracket. The Patriots had to overcome freezing temperatures and were still able to take first place. The Patriots overall tournament record was 3-0-1. The Patritos defeated Atletico Espanol 1-0, Rangers from Rio Rancho 3-0, and Texas Fire 4-0, and their only draw of the tournament was Strikers from Las Cruces.
"I am extremely proud of how my team performed", commented Enrique "kiki" Cervantes. Several players were approached by college scouts from distinguised universities. This proves that there is much talent on our team and the Patriots are still the team to beat in El Paso.
